Last updated: 17 March 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how SwiftBee Ltd processes personal data when you use IndieRanks. It is intended to help users understand what data we collect, why we use it, who may receive it, and what rights are available.
1. Who we are
For the purposes of applicable data protection law, including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, SwiftBee Ltd is the controller of personal data processed through IndieRanks.
If you have privacy questions, contact us at support@swiftbee.co.uk.

Analytics and technical data
- device, browser, page, approximate usage, and event data collected through analytics or platform tooling;
- security, logging, and request metadata used to operate, troubleshoot, and protect the Service.
3. How we use personal data
We use personal data to:
- create and manage accounts and authenticate users;
- store, review, moderate, and publish project submissions and founder profiles;
- operate bracket views, rankings, search, filters, and verification workflows;
- respond to support requests and communicate about your account or listings;
- measure product usage, improve features, fix bugs, and understand performance;
- detect abuse, protect the Service, enforce our Terms, and comply with legal obligations.
4. Lawful bases
We typically rely on one or more of the following lawful bases under the UK GDPR:
- Contract: where processing is necessary to provide IndieRanks features you request, such as account access, submissions, or public listing management;
- Legitimate interests: where processing is reasonably necessary to run, improve, secure, support, and defend the Service, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests;
- Legal obligation: where we need to keep records, respond to lawful requests, prevent fraud, or satisfy legal duties;
- Consent: where consent is required by law for a specific activity.
5. Public leaderboard data
Some IndieRanks features are public by design. If a project is listed, information such as the project name, founder name, category, description, website link, logo, headline metrics, growth figures, and verification status may appear publicly on leaderboard, project, or founder pages.
Public data may be indexed, cached, or archived by third parties. If you want a listing corrected, reviewed, or removed, contact support@swiftbee.co.uk.
7. International transfers
Some of our service providers may process personal data outside the UK. Where that happens, we aim to use appropriate safeguards recognised under data protection law, such as adequacy regulations, standard contractual clauses, or equivalent transfer protections offered by the relevant provider.
8. Retention
We keep personal data for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including to provide the Service, keep records, resolve disputes, maintain security, and comply with legal obligations.
- account data is generally kept while your account remains active and for a reasonable period afterwards;
- project listings, founder profiles, and moderation records may be retained while they are live or needed for audit, abuse prevention, and backup purposes;
- support messages and logs may be retained for service improvement, support history, and legal defence.
9. Your rights
Depending on your location and the circumstances, you may have the right to:
- request access to your personal data;
- request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- request deletion of certain data;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- request portability of data you provided to us where legally applicable;
- withdraw consent where we rely on consent;
- complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office if you believe your rights have been infringed.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to help protect personal data. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted or stored through the internet.
12. Contact and complaints
For privacy requests or questions, contact support@swiftbee.co.uk.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your request, you may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
